Terms of Service

Effective: April 20, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using CronGen (https://cron-pattern.vercel.app), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the service. CronGen reserves the right to update these terms at any time; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

2. Description of Service

CronGen is a free, web-based tool that allows users to visually build, validate, and understand cron expressions. The service generates cron schedule syntax based on user input and provides human-readable descriptions, next run time previews, and educational content about cron syntax.

The tool operates entirely within your web browser. No cron expressions, personal data, or user input is transmitted to or stored on our servers. CronGen is provided as a utility tool and does not execute, deploy, or manage cron jobs on any system.

3. Use of the Service

You agree to use CronGen only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms. You agree not to:

  • Use the service in any way that violates applicable local, national, or international laws or regulations.
  • Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or overload the service or its infrastructure.
  • Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access the service in a manner that degrades the experience for other users.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract proprietary components of the service beyond what is available in the public source code.

4. Intellectual Property

The CronGen name, logo, design, and original content are the property of CronGen and its contributors. The source code is available under an open-source license on GitHub. Cron expressions generated by the tool are mathematical representations of time schedules and are not subject to copyright — you are free to use any generated expressions without restriction.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

CronGen is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We make no guarantees about the accuracy of generated cron expressions, schedule descriptions, or next run time calculations.

You are solely responsible for verifying that any cron expression generated by CronGen is correct and appropriate for your use case before deploying it in a production environment. Always test cron schedules in a non-production environment first.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CronGen and its contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. This includes, without limitation, damages for lost profits, data loss, system downtime, or business interruption resulting from the use of cron expressions generated by this tool.

7. Third-Party Services

CronGen may display advertisements through Google AdSense and use third-party hosting services (Vercel). These third-party services are governed by their own terms of service and privacy policies. CronGen is not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of third-party services.

8. Modifications to the Service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time without prior notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the service.

9. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
